Salesforce learning becomes easier to evaluate when you can show a small business process from beginning to end. If you are exploring a Salesforce course in Kalyan, a fictional enquiry-and-follow-up project can help you connect configuration, data quality, permissions and reporting.

Use an appropriate training environment and made-up records. Do not import actual student, customer or employee contact details into a practice organisation.

Define the problem in plain language

Imagine a training business wants to know which enquiries need a follow-up. The problem is not simply that it needs more fields. Staff need an agreed way to record interest, assign responsibility, record the next action and see what is overdue.

Write a short acceptance statement: “An assigned staff member can record a next follow-up date and see their open enquiries due today.” This gives your project a clear outcome that can be demonstrated and tested.

Choose the data structure deliberately

Before creating custom objects, inspect whether standard Salesforce objects support the intended scenario in your training environment. Explain your choice of objects, fields and relationships rather than building a new object for every idea.

Use a controlled list for course interest and a small set of clearly defined statuses. Decide how duplicate-looking enquiries should be reviewed. A repeated name alone is not enough to conclude that two records represent the same person.

Give users only the access they need

Create a simple permissions plan for two fictional staff roles. Decide who may view records, change them or see particular fields. Salesforce’s official guidance distinguishes different levels of access and recommends permission sets and permission set groups for managing object permissions.

Test the result with the relevant user accounts. A dashboard that displays correctly for an administrator does not prove that an ordinary staff member has the intended access. Record both an allowed action and an action that should be denied.

Make the follow-up process visible

Create a view of open enquiries with a next-action date. Explain how missing dates should be handled and which statuses count as closed. If you add automation, keep it to a small, understandable rule and test its conditions carefully.

For reporting, distinguish the number of enquiries from the number of unique people and from confirmed admissions. A status change can indicate progress, but it should not create a business result without the agreed evidence.

Demonstrate the complete journey

Show a new fictional enquiry, assign it, record a next action and verify that it appears in the correct view. Change its status and confirm the report updates as intended. Finally, check what the second staff account can see.

Your portfolio can include a data model, a permissions matrix, a short demonstration and a list of test cases. Explain what you configured yourself, which limitations remain and what you would change for a larger organisation. Avoid claiming that a practice project is a live client implementation.
